Base Charge - .78 per hundred

A monthly Purchase Gas charge per CCF of sales billed for each customer will be added to the base gas rates to recover the amount of actual Purchased Gas Costs and related expenses.

TRASH PICKUP RATES

As of February 4th, household garbage collection will be done by the City of Harrisburg. All garbage must be in plastic garbage bags and not loose in the carts. The carts are for household waste only. We will not pickup leaves, limbs. grass clippings nor such items nor will we sort through your cart. If these items are in your cart we will not empty it. We will continue to pickup leaves and limbs as we have in the past.
Rates are as follows:

Residential customers:
One 96 galloon cart curb side pickup $15.20
One 96 gallon cart senior citizen (65 and up) (a) $11.75
Backyard pickup (additional cost) (b) $ .75
Additional 96 gallon carts (each) (c) $ 15.20

(a) To qualify for the senior citizen rate the primary user or spouse must be at least 60 years of age.
(b) To Qualify for backyard pickup the primary user must present Doctor's proof of a permanent physical disability.
(c) If your household produces more garbage on a regular basis than one cart will hold, another cart will be placed.

Churches:
First Cart $15.20
Each additional cart is $15.20

Commercial:
Each cart $15.20
If you live on the west side of Highway 1 please place your cart out on Mondays. If you live on the east side of Highway 1 please place your cart out on Tuesdays.

New Service and Deposits

Applications for new service are accepted at our office during regular office hours. The person requesting services must be present and at least 18 years of age with a valid ID. A deposit is required before water service may be established. Our deposit rules are:
  • We will not accept letters of credit or co-signers as a deposit substitute.
  • Partial deposits are not accepted.
  • Deposits are refundable when the you leave our service. Your deposit will be applied to any amount due on your final bill. If your final bill is less than the deposit, you will receive check for the remaining amount. If not, you will be billed for the amount due.
  • If you move your service to another address on our system you can transfer your deposit.
  • You cannot transfer your deposit to another customer.
  • If you leave Harrisburg and close your account, and you return to Harrisburg, a new deposit will be required.

The deposit schedule is as follows:

Residential
Water Deposit - $75.00
Natural Gas Deposit - $100.00

Commerical
Water Deposit - $150.00*
Natural Gas Deposit - $200.00*

*May vary based on estimated consumption

Disconnection and Reconnection Fees

Service Restoration / Reconnection Fee - $25.00 / $55.00
When water and or gas service has been disconnected for non-payment a reconnection fee will be required to restore service. Reconnection will occur after payment consisting of the delinquent balance and the reconnection fee are received at our office. The reconnection fee during regular business hours is $25.00. Reconnection can be done after hours for a fee of $55.00.

Water Seasonal / Temporary Absence Disconnection and Reconnection
You can request the disconnection of a special water meter, such as a garden meter, in the off season. You can also request a disconnection of your water to avoid possible water damage by leaks while you are away for an extended period of time. There is no charge for this service.

Gas Seasonal / Temporary Absence Disconnection and Reconnection - $25.00 / $40.00
You can request the disconnection of your gas meter during the summer months or if you will be away for an extended period of time. There is no  fee to have your gas disconnected. To have your gas service restored the fee is $60.00.

Late Payment Fee

Payments must be received and credited to your account by the Statement Due Date listed on your utility bill by no later than 4:00 p.m. An account not payed on time will be assessed a late payment fee in the amount of 10% of the monthly amount billed.

Insufficient Funds Fee

Payments (check, credit card, bank draft etc.) returned by your financial institution for insufficient funds will be charged a $30.00 fee. Payment for the returned charge and $30.00 fee must be made with cash or money order.

Penalty for Meter Tampering/Theft of Service

The water and or gas meter is the property of Harrisburg Water & Gas and only authorized personnel can operate meters. If someone turns the water and or gas off/on at the meter, knowingly taps, cuts, injures, destroys or otherwise interrupts or interferes with a meter or water/gas line it is considered tampering. If tampering has occured, tampering charges may be assessed in addition to reconnection charges, replacement cost of damaged parts and/or equipment, estimated cost of water and/or wastewater usage not recorded, based on current rates.
